Data Retention Policy

Last updated 20 June 2026

This policy explains how long CarJio keeps different kinds of data and when each is deleted. We keep data only as long as we need it to run a trustworthy marketplace, meet legal obligations and resolve disputes.

Principles

We retain the minimum data necessary, for the shortest reasonable time. Retention periods balance your privacy against fraud prevention, safety and our legal obligations under applicable Indian law.

Deletion and your choices

You can delete your listings and edit your profile at any time from your account. To delete your account and the personal data associated with it, email privacy@carjio.com. Some records may be retained after deletion where the law requires it or to resolve an active dispute or fraud investigation; once that need passes, they are deleted.

Backups

Deleted data may persist in encrypted backups for a short period until those backups rotate out, after which it is permanently removed.
